Burning Montana

by Traci Mabats

I have lived here
under a red sun
breathing in air
to corrupt my lungs
Dry eyes
through a haze of smoke
lack of ambition
and parched throats
now in dire need
of a change in weather
We await a good November rain

Excellent image of what we in the West are going through right now. We finally have clear air today after a week of smoke. School kids were not allowed our at recess - outdoor sports were cancelled. We were in Montana in July and it was gorgeous. I hate to think of any of it burning.

I like your take on current conditions and your adaptation to nature. A healing piece on seasonal change and the cycle of life.
