Making Love with Poetry

by Gregory R Schelske

My pen wavers over the paper
afraid to make its mark-
All-the-while making no mark at all.
A lonely piece of stationary
stares backĀ…
blankly-
Wondering if she will ever see
her scribe in action.
She has taken note of his name;
A name she had seen before-
Parker.
Parker?
Did she know him?
He had never crossed her lines before-
That much she was sure of.
She stared back...still.
Waiting
Wondering
Was he going to do it?
Could he?
And he did...kind of.
First with gentle strokes that tickled her face,
and next with large curly-cues that traced
every square inch of her surface.
He wiggled with excitement.
She just laid there...watching.
When all was said and done - his ink had run dry
and his mark was left...he said goodbye.
Goodbye.

I'm really chuckling over this one. Parker. I love the thought process and how you "teased" with words. Office Depot will never be the same.

Very creative Duke. And oh so true/sad ~ how we leave our mark and then just disappear. (sometimes anyway) Excellent read. Thanks for sharing. :)
