did you hear that?

by Charlie Morgan

sitting,
letting the dark night swallow me
and watching my dog check for aliens
or Beethoven, I watch the moon grow
as the sky becomes like a lit playground.

have the mama's called each of us kids home?

maybe tomorrow, same place, same time.

Your imaging captures me and thrusts me back to similar moments of being swallowed in the dark and then dancing there in the sight of the moon. Gosh, and the way you bring mack the memories of mama looking and calling for me! Wonderful poem, Charlie.
