the color blue

my belly buttons blue!
I
looked
down
and its true!
my belly buttons blue
my pen inks blue
my pen inks blue
I hung it
round my neck
or Id lose it (like I do)
all day long
nestled snug inside my shirt
just hangin around waitin
while I went about
my work
Id bring it out
occasionally
to write a thing or two
let me tell you
unequivocally
that my pen inks blue!
there must have been
a dry spell
in that sultry afternoon
no need to write a ticket
no need to scribe a rune
now who am I to judge these two
this pen and belly button
but in my undershirtly dark
they must have started somethin
for when I stripped
to take my shower
Im tellin you its true!
lookin in the mirror
back at me
a belly button blue
my belly buttons blue
my pen inks blue
if somethin ever came of this
I dont know what Id do
for now Ill keep them far apart
and pen a poem or two
though colors not an issue
this twosome now is through
my belly buttons blue

Author's Note: I wear a pen around my neck on a string at work as Im always losing them or they leak in my pants pocket. I started getting blue ink spots on my blouses, so decided to experiment with the pen hanging inside my shirt when not in use. I came home to find my belly button covered in blue ink not a spot of ink anywhere else. Pretty suspicious, if you ask me : )

Great work, it's cute and kinda funny too. It did give you an idea for a poem thou. I realize it wasn't at the time. Soms day you'll look back and have a big laugh yourself. Do you keep it closed or leave it open.? Without the lid. Try a pen, I believe it's by Paper Mate. But, it writes in all angles and it pop up or down when ya click it. :)
