father of stories

by Charlie Morgan

even in assembly line novels
there is one story.
different people, places.
different directions, moves.
but the same story.
has Homer died, or being
carried forth by Flannery,
Cerro Negro, Dumas.
even James Joyce.

the old Indian, according to some
is the universal source
of all narrative material
and includes even
the unwritten books
of Ermes Marana.

the delay is in the delivery,
from the winding corridor of the Andes
or enshrouded in the deep-green forests
of the Orinoco, in every story,
still we see
only contradictory glimpses
of the landscape suggested.

I am very attracted by your style of writting. I'll have to make a note to read more in your library.

The universal comfort, we have all been there/done that. The people change but the story remains the same. Interesting way of putting it.
