memories by Peter Humphreysby wave
lashed
shore
there is
a house
down
bracken waving
lane
beside
leaf silvered
trees
there
is a
house
by briar
blocked path
there is a
house
boarded
blind
and silent
made
a house
there is
alone
groaning
in the
autumn
wind
silent in
the summer
heat
dead
when
spring ground
wakens
in winter
memories
torn
apart

Posted by Mara Meade on 07/02/06 at 02:22 AM How this catches my imagination! I can't help but be fascinated by abandoned houses... I always wonder what stories they coud tell. |
