K. One-sided Argument

by Christel Crews

You stood there in the doorway
Not letting me leave
Every moment
Growing more intense
Every second
My anger rising

And you never said a word
I ignored at first
Because I was not pleased
You know that's my initial reaction
When things don't go my way

And every moment
Elevated my fear
And every second
The loneliness escalating

Then I finally turned
Filled with every emotion
You created in me
And from the depths of my spirit

I screamed
Every moment
Bringing anxiety
I hollered
Every second
My panic climbing
Beating into you
With fists of agony

You never fought back
And I wrestled you
Begging for a change
Refusing to let go
Until you gave me an answer

And every moment
My heart breaking
And every second
You remain the same

Very painful. There are things and people we just can't change. Well written.

Yes, it's wonderful Christel. It makes sense to me. Most of the time when he's standing there doing nothing I just want to curl up in the corner and fall asleep in my depression and exhaustion from the anxiety. Oh how God tries our patience. I'm there right with you.

He always wins, doesn't He? With His Infinite Wisdom and Love, we are so precious to Him. This reminds me of the arguments I've had and how my disappointment turns to joy when He does bless me and answer my prayers - in His own way. I have tears in my eyes, thinking about your words and how awesome He is.
