Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 06/04/06 at 02:19 PM Much truth and wisdom here. Well stated. I've had friends though that have asked me to start calling them something different, such as Bob instead of Rob, or Helena instead of Helen, after knowing them as the previous incarnation for so long, the new name didn't seem like the right representation. |

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 06/05/06 at 03:17 AM Amazing - how you define such a simple thing and infuse it with the world's most powerful force - love. The last stanza is so romantic - I can see a candlelit dinner complete with a small black velvet box on the table for a special occasion.

What's in a Name |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 08/20/06 at 07:59 PM Point well taken. A name only as good as its associations! Most interesting observation that name does not denote character. (I recall in my childhood knowing a boy by the name of Allen, Allen Payne to be exact. He was a real pain! I never liked the name Allen because of him. LOL!! Now I've known other Allens who have been kinder, gentler people and I did not hold the name against them!) |
