euphonia.

by Andrew S Adams

start
with the moment where the bottle
broke
on the pavement
progress
to the contact with the
company you keep
keep on with knowing everything
you'll never tell
til you're reduced to rubble-

pick up the pieces of glass
getting caught in your soles
and put them back together
this is your puzzle
and you must keep it to yourself

and try to remember the resonance
and sound of the shattering splinters
of dissonance, dissect the crash from all sides
stay quiet in the shadows of silent symphonies
recall lost recordings cemented like your
life flashing before your eyes in a carcrash
sprung from your mind's eye, and
reach further inside to find something deeper
than you could ever hear or say
you know why it started and
how it will end today;
you know it because it always ends
this way.

Author's Note: an experiment with just using alliteration and other sound cues to write; not sure if it means anything.
