no regime change

by David Hill

starch stiff collar
rubs him razor red
so daddy says go
and no one says no.

disquiet deep in a blue barrel month
cocooned in a quilt in my darkened den.

little brown men
aren't you utterly awed?
by your god's sky
full of our Smart Bombs!

gray-green blasts splash the shadows
in shades of absurdity, geraldo in khaki
blurs the line on reality.

resigned, i click the remote.
of my generation,
our brightest and best,
the same as the rest.

"geraldo in khaki blurs the line on reality".... great line. I'm hoping the last two lines aren't true.
