Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 05/14/06 at 12:19 PM I like how this can be interpreted in at least a couple of different ways; loss of innocense...virginity maybe, but certainly a defining moment of growing up. Nice one David.

Posted by Jim Benz on 05/17/06 at 03:20 PM I haven't been commenting hardly at all on poetry here for awhile, but I have to make an exceptions here. this little ku is exactly what I look for in a haiku, so ripe with meaning and image that its just bursting. having watched the cherry blossoms outside my front door fade and fall just a few weeks ago, this also creates the seasonal element for me extremely well. incredible ku David.

Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 05/19/06 at 08:57 PM I love haiku for it can caputure so much symbolism with so few words and yet somtimes it is what is left unsaid that the reader is left mull over...this haiku has come of age...well done. smh
