Superstitions in Wishing by Lacy D PhillipsI will still wish on the first washed-out star, blow the heads clean off of dandelions, tie paper straw wrappers and pull till they break, toss fortunes of pennies into fountains, and search eagle-eyed for fallen eyelashes.
I will be death to all flames atop birthday cakes.
I will plead earnestly with meteors though they flee from me.
And I will pray for a heart ready to receive.

I do all of the above and more, not taking any chances. Glad to know there are more of us out there. Love this! |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 12/10/06 at 04:48 AM Lacy, this is absolutely incredible. It's so simple, yet goes to the very depth of the heart. I love it! I was looking in the categories for some inspiration to write some poems, and I found it in this one. Beautiful!
