TV Ugly

by Timothy Somers

Don't want no ugly people
Showing up on my TV.
Don't need no real-life people
the kind I always see
day in, day out.
Don't want them on TV.
Can't be.

Don't want to change the station,
can't bear to turn it off,
don't like this ugly nation
can't stand the daily sloth
and ugly people,
on my TV.

I've got warts enough to please me,
don't need to see no scars,
don't want no ugly people
selling me on soap and cars
on my TV.
Not me.
Can't be.

Short ones,
fat ones,
with bad hair all run amok,
I'd rather paint my feet with cheese,
and drive a pickup truck
than watch TV,
and have to see,
sad folks like me,
on my TV.
Can't be.

Why can't they just be happy
with Adonis and his mate,
why show some girl all nappy
her butt wide as a gate
on my TV?

Why can't these people understand
there's ugly all around the land enough.
Leave TV be,
not just for me,
but all that see,
that they should be,
just like TV,
not wrinkled, pimpled, shrunken, dimpled,
but simply,
folded, molded, scolded,
just to be,
just like TV,
not you and me,
on my TV

A finger well pointed at our silly society on and off TV. This is fun to read!
