Waiting For My Daughter by Joan SerratelliWaiting here anxiously
for my daughter to arrive
safely, happy
wanting to talk
to vist, to laugh
to tell me things
that are going on
in her life
things that will
make me feel
that she is doing ok
without me
I haven't seen her
in over a month
I worry about her
constantly
Is she eating enough?
Is she happy at work?
Does she miss me
nearly as much
as I miss her?
I wish she would get here
walk through the door
I'm ready to burst
I can't wait anymore
I need her to get here
to be here with me
even for a short visit
it'll be enough for me
