I Wish

by Joan Serratelli

I wish I could
take back the things
I wrote- I can't

I wish I could
take back the things
I said- I can't

I wish you could
forgive me for
what I did- you won't

I wish we could
trust each other
again- we can't

I wish I could
stop crying and start
living again- I can't

I wish I didn't
love you so much
but the truth is- I do

I wish we could
go on from here and
forget the hurt- do you?

Author's Note: This is for my daughter, who I love more than life itself! All I can say is "I'm sorry".

Well I see so many questions which have been prematurely answered in the negative when the suggestion COULD be a positive one instead, "I CAN...WE CAN" etc. Usually one can't expect a positive response from a negative suggestion, but in any case this does express the sentiment of "sorry" and "I wish" that comes with a typical hefty dose of emotionalism though gets us from nowhere to nowhere very fast. That's what I saw.

Well, the msg. is ample clear. I wish this reaches to the right ear and is responded in the same spirit and with the same quality of love and affection. I wish you all the best. I dont think you could do better than what you have done.

Hold tight to memories, and give love a chance to catch up with time.

Nicely worded piece, that I'm sure we all can relate to in our own way.
