Lost Innocence by Maureen Glaudein the past two years
Ive had to have
our two beloved
long-time family pets
put down
up til then
never had my hand
in more than
the demise
of bugs 05/01/2006
Author's Note: draft. At this sad time, I'm playing in my mind the song
and lyrics to The Dance, by Garth Brooks.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 05/01/06 at 02:35 PM Yup...adds a whole new meaning to the term/title. Perhaps Val or you will get another cat at a later date? |
Posted by Joan Serratelli on 05/01/06 at 07:09 PM In the past, I've had to have 2 dogs put down. Daisy was 15 and had strokes, but Einstein was only 4- he had seizures. It almost killed my daughter when her beloved Einstein died. The picture of her watching that dog seiz is one that will never leave my heart. The loss of a pet is very traumatic- most people do not realize this; it is like losing any other family member. Very well written- brought it all back to me. Great job on a sad topic. |

Posted by Jane E Pearce on 05/04/06 at 12:38 AM Oh Maureen, it is such a sad time when we say goodbye to these angels. I miss having one. We have 8 buried under the apple tree. They are all gifts to our lives from God. Go to a wonderful sight Pet Loss.com. It's for people all over the world who have lost pets. Marvelous site. Jane |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 08/19/06 at 11:55 PM I know what you mean. And the feeling of missing them, no matter how long ago, surfaces from time to time. In this matter, I relate to you so well.
