I Knows Nose

by Timothy Somers

Ah yes, we address the nose.
More adept at running than feet
or the toes,
is the nose.

In winter it shines, does the nose.
From blowing more constant
with noise so demonstrant
of wind in the throes
of hurricane blows,
comes the nose.

So it goes,
with the nose.
In the fall
heed the call
of the nose.

Quite naked a life,
has the nose.
Always cold and efficient,
yet boldly deficient,
in covering clothes
is the nose.

It's just beyond licking
and features good picking
'till frightfully red,
as to preface the head,
as a beacon to thumb
when decorum's undone,
it is subject to blows,
if the mouth overflows,
but such is the lot of the nose.

I knows nose.
