Red Couch by Michael FaradayMy life would be simpler
if I bought a red couch,
an adjacent rug for wet feet
keeping claw digs to a minmum,
and my friend became my lover
Her hair is thin
sometimes defying gravity
Her eyes tell all
¡Ella es una mujer muy hermosa!
It's endearing when our smiles
break a kiss
We say aloud all the adverbs
that say how we feel, we laugh,
we hold, it's comfortable
endless and alphabetic
Simpler is on the way
I think it's real this time

| Posted by Julie Adams on 05/01/06 at 06:18 PM I adore this poem! Immediately on my fav's list! The sentiment, the selective word choices and breaks, the opening "red" stanza, and my favorite: "It's endearing when our smiles/ break a kiss"...this was so much more than what I expected from the title...a blushing tribute too, peace, *jewels* |
| Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 05/16/13 at 01:20 PM I enjoyed this, liked your use of the word "simpler", especially in conjunction with that red couch. "it's comfortable
endless and alphabetic" - this is quite charming and the word "alphabetic" keeps the language coming. Thanks for this.
