The First Law

by Mae D Morey

It matters not what name you call Me by
so long as you call upon Me,
It matters not what language you use to speak to Me
so long as the words are from your heart,
It matters not what path you walk upon
so long as you walk beside Me,
It matters not what purpose you lend Me
so long as your intent is pure.
It matters not what law you follow,
so long as the first law is love.
The truest of gifts,
and the greatest of powers
are limited only by your ability to walk the path, embracing the first law. Only when you can appreciate and love even that which you hate, because it has stirred within you emotion - Only then will you have begun to walk within enlightenment.
No matter what may come, remember this well
The first law is...
Love.

Author's Note: This.... at first glance is a very 'fluffy' poem but it isn't. A well versed student of certain paths can peel back the facade and see the true message beneath.

I see no fluffy facade here, but a serious expression of a call to follow The First Law. Well done.

I totally agree- no fluff here; just a poem about The First Law. I REALLY liked this piece; the tone, the mood and the flow. Very well done!
