Only One is a Choice

by Ashok Sharda

I woke up with a visual
Interpreted by words, habitually

Trains with unusual compartments
Passed me by at a pace unprecedented
Depicting scenes of events in
Different shades and colors

Board I must or un-board
By Playing an ACTIVE role
Becoming a key force
In my own destiny

If not, undo my helplessness I must
By playing a RECONCILING role
Actively accepting my failure
To board or un-board

Otherwise choose not, and let happen
By playing a PASSIVE role
Allowing the chain of events
To determine my destiny

In silence I wonder
Do I really have three choices
When ACTION alone is a choice
Amidst all that are happenings?

Thoughtful insight about the changes and choices that propel us forward....and backward. Sometimes it is the choice to change trains as well....lol oh don't get me going on this..I have a son in law that is a conductor!

The train works well here as analogy. Whether it carries gravy or garbage is indeed very much up to the engineer who boards or un-board.

Your active role is showing! :) Another thought provoking piece of philosophizing.

Does love bear all things? What, then, does it mean - to bear? —to take action? —yes, I am thinking yes to this.
You already surely know how your writings invigorate me into the action of thought. (heh!) :)

Hi Ashok, Great write. it makes one stop and think also. We do have choices to make or not to make. I also agree with some of the others too.
