Almost Done....

I'm down to 2
just 2 more cigarettes
left to smoke
it's been a struggle
but it's almost done
tomorrow I'll be down
to just one
It hasn't been easy
I'll admit to that
quitting this habit
has taken it's toll
But I'm winning the battle
and yet...
I still can't help but wonder

And that final question of reaching goals reminded me of a wonderful metaphor I recently read for how our struggles should be perceived, "...when you're no longer thinking ahead, each footstep isn't just a means to an end but a unique event in itself...It's the sides of the mountain which sustain life, not the top.
