thanks for nothing

by Christel Crews

And you leave me
wanting what you will not give
untapped emotions, tapped
reminding me of what
I am without

Its not you that I will miss
but the void you have graciously
pointed out
desires I have not had in years
flood my mind

I was content
and now
I am left wanting, craving

A glance, a touch
from someone who cares
time and attention
of someone who can see past
the walls I've built

Did I let down my guard
or somehow, did you jump the hurdle
only to run out
your actions have screamed louder
than your words

And I am no longer listening

It's all good (the poem, that is),but the line "but the void you have graciously pointed out" really caught me - that biting "thank you" said with just the right kick.

I agree with Kristina and Lori- this is a powerful write with just the right tone.
