Then by Rebecca LinStill firefly
in the night sky
You could see her glowing eyes,
reflecting wonder
and majesty.
Then you could see
the magenta stains
scattered among
the grass
and reeds.
Your body in flames,
like the scarlet sky
when she cried
crystal droplets.
Then you were drowning
and your eyes looked up this time.
She was beautiful, don't you see?
Don't you see...
The path ahead was rocky
and you scorned him...
you didn't want to go on...
but she was there,
there with you,
remaining in ruin.
Await on golden cliffs,
she'll go after you.
He'll stop her.
The whales would swim.
You dropped, then,
but you could've stayed with her
like him. 03/28/2006 Author's Note: I was watching a show and wrote this o.o

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 08/28/07 at 03:44 PM Well, I was just coming in from watching the Lunar Eclipse and read this.
(this glory)
(this mysterious poem)
(this open whisper)
(this, your poem)
(so magnetic, this)

Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 08/28/07 at 05:33 PM Shoot! Jill saw the lunar eclipse and I missed it. However, finding your poem as a POTD was something I DIDN'T miss. So many senses and emotions were used in this poem. I, too, wonder what show you were watching. Beautifully done. Congratulations on your POTD. |
