Easter Surprise by Maureen GlaudeI saw the Easter Elephant, its true
baskets of eggs on her trunk
she trudged (no hops) along her route
in soft earth, packing quite a plunk!
Ears flopping to the April breeze
she wore a Mona Lisa smile
but creaked a little at the knees
and sometimes stopped to sit a while
I saw the Easter Elephant, its true
herald of Spring and Mother Earth
so friends, I knew I must tell you
who else would see the worth?

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 03/11/06 at 08:06 PM Yes, I do see the worth, and hope that I too will soon spot the Easter Elephant. Whimsical and imaginative piece of work plays perfect accompanyment for the sunshine and melting snow outside. |
Posted by Peter Humphreys on 03/12/06 at 05:39 PM This made me smile and long for Easter. The daffodils are heralding Spring here but they are not as much gentle fun as your elephant! |
