slow but steady moves
morning greeting
that'll be two fourteen
thank you sir.
I wonder why this low wage job
for this poised elder-
a divorce, dead husband?
or in this momentary link
a Walgreens angel to assure me:
even without the gritty cross
of ashes traced on my forehead
Lent begins.
she gives me her peace
along with my change. 03/02/2006 Posted on 03/03/2006 Copyright © 2024 Glenn Currier

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 03/03/06 at 06:39 AM ...yes, what is that about entertaining angels unawares? We rarely know or seek to know the real stories behind those we come across in everyday life. I see them as a great reason to at least smile they'er way. Thanks for this reminder of the season, and the people. |

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 03/07/06 at 03:07 AM Glenn, I love moments like these, since they take the sting out of others that aren't as wonderful. Beautiful, peaceful...passed on and on to countless people.
