#4 Herself

by Kyle Anne Kish

Herself struggled
with what she
had explained
to Friend. Not
because she
doubted her
mystical powers,
nor because she
felt powerless.

Something simply
nagged at the back
of Herself's brain,
like a mule kicking
a goat for no reason
other than to be
an ass.

Well, an ass may
simply be an ass,
but an ass kicking
a goat for no reason
cannot be reckoned
with. Herself,
could only wait
for Friend's reply.

Hopefully, the
state of mind
which Herself
had worked
Herself into
would not cause
the winds
to blow at
opposite ends
of the poles in
the same direction.

Such would be very
dangerous indeed.

So, Herself began
to worry once more.
She was the best
of the best of the
best of all worriers.
That was a proven fact.

Luckily, Friend's reply
arrived on the arm of
a sparrow, right at
the allotted time.
