Don't Remember

Don't know where I've been
can't remember anything
don't recall a thing!
They say that this is normal
They say it's the meds
that are messin' up
my poor little head
Can't remember yesterday
last week is just a blur
I think that it's a miracle
that I remember my own name
The poem I wrote yesterday
don't remember writing
the argument with my husband?
Did I really do that?
Was it that important?
Don't remember what I wore
when last we went out
Don't even rembember how
I got this way...
and for that I thank G-d every day! 02/23/2006
Author's Note: Because of my illness, I take a plethera of medications. Unfortunately, I get very forgetful. I wrote this poem because it suddenly dawned on me this morning that I couldn't remember if i had taken a shower. I had to ask my husband- not good!!!
