MarriageLand can be an awesome place
a place of joy and love
A place where one can live
an exciting and fullfilling life
without ever leaving the park
But there are dangers in MarriageLand
sometimes the rollercoaters don't stop
They go up and down
and all around
knocking your body, your brain and your heart
Childern are allowed in MarriageLand
but oftimes their visit
is much too short
They wander off in search of a place
where they can live their lives
Once the children are gone from MarriageLand
it's harder to find the fun
You miss them
and worry that they'll
never find their way back
Now you're alone in Marriageland
just the two of you once more
left to remember
what brought you here in the beginning
because the price of admission was paid with your heart

Author's Note: Thanks you Kyle Anne Kish for providing this topic. I hope I did it justice.
You said it so well, Joan. We spend so many years in 'MarriageLand' with our world around our children. Once they leave the nest, couples are forced to take another look at each other. I loved your last line, "because the price of admission was paid with your heart" ... what a wonderful way to end this poem. :)
