Posted by Charles M Harrison on 07/29/06 at 05:12 PM I think we can scense wounds in others that we have experienced. Good Haiku I am just starting to try Haiku's myself. |

Posted by JD Clay on 02/07/07 at 02:28 PM This haiku reads like three separate questions dealing with inner conflict. Pertinent yet haunting, melancholy yet searching for resolve through understanding. Three cheers for Poem of the Day. |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 02/07/07 at 10:21 PM Robin, CONGRATULATIONS on POTD! Yes, our wounds are not always hidden. Even the ones we try to hide some can see - our hearts and eyes show them.
And if others hurt just like us, they can see it too. Too many things are universal, especially pain and that's unfortunate.

Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 02/07/07 at 11:14 PM The title invites. It says no, but has a yes implied. So our hidden self, wounded secretly, holding in, finds comfort and says "how did you know it"? I think the poem well formed, and spoken, says this and invites that comfort in eyes meeting, of knowing another who understands. |
