Snowflake Haiku

by Maureen Glaude

a lone snowflake
landing on your neck
melts beyond my reach

11/29/2001

Author's Note: I'm honoured to know this just won First in our Tadpole Society January Kukai contest on here. We're very fortunate to have Agnes Eva providing us this opportunity to share. (and of course Gavin too). Thanks voters, and my dear long-time haiku friend Pag for the Renga Series I wrote it for long ago on Poesie.

I like how this piece implies cerebral distance between parties despite being physically near enough to see the snowflake.
