IF by Joan SerratelliIF
you would listen,
I would speak
IF
you would believe,
I would tell the truth
IF
you knew who I was,
there would be no doubts
IF
you did not judge me,
I would not hurt
IF
you wanted peace,
you would not take sides
IF
you cared about my feelings,
you would not shove me away
IF
you knew what I knew,
you might feel as I do
But none of this matters,
you will not even try.

Author's Note: I wrote this when I was having communication problems with my parents. I felt that they were not listening to me.

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 01/26/06 at 04:16 PM This should be framed and put on everyone's wall. |
Posted by Maria Terezia Ferencz on 02/12/07 at 01:59 AM I agree with Kris, there is a spot on everyone's wall for this. |
Posted by Laura Doom on 02/15/21 at 10:11 PM I finally got there - quite a hiatus between original and sequel. If I'd known then what I know now, my comment wouldn't have been do dumb :>] |
