Dissertation by Manas Moksha
Revolutions
Of mind expanding
And compressing
Spirals
Of passion
And pressure
Waxing and waning
Insight and confusion
A meter of life force
A reminder that I am living
From vivid dreams
And toiling in square boxes
These hands articulate
Mental and spiritual fodder
For a timeless history and philosophy
Nurturing integrity and adequacy
In ripples of endless change
Repeating
An evolution of our science emerges
Crossing boundaries and using all senses
The infinite extends the mortality of my body
The organic song leaves traces of today
Nourishing an interminable tomorrow

Crossing boundaries and using all senses" ... science and senses is truly how we live. I love this line. The whole 'being' of the poem seems to be summed up very nicely in these two lines, but without the rest of your piece one might be lost for words. Super!
Congratulations on your POTD. |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 03/18/07 at 04:13 PM Wondrous depth and integration in this... what an impressive statement as part of a dissertation, and immensely appropriate to your work. I am grateful to POTD to know your poetry and your very interesting work and interests. Sometimes there are Neurobiology conferences at Caltech here in Pasadena, my husband is prof of Math there, but I go to lectures in your fascinating field for inspiration and insight. I hope to meet you if you come here. What and where could integration be more meaningful than to see life in the revolutions you poetically describe today, norishing and spiraling into the future? |
