Siren Song by Timothy SomersMy dog taught her dog to echo back the sirens.
He had a terrible voice.
My dog had a rich, strong baritone ranging through tenor.
It was beautiful to hear.
No yips.
A strong glissando, emergency style.
Perfect pitch and mimicry from a rich black chest.
Duets evolved, half hesitant and tentative, half reserved yet definite.
My dog died.
I left town for a month and they put him down.
Her dog solos, but only on occasion, with his newly beautiful voice.
Sad songs.

| Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 02/19/08 at 06:39 PM I stopped by for a read expecting to find one thing and had quite the shock. I am sad for you, for your loss. In your picture you are standing in front of sunflowers (representing happiness) I hope there are some on your path in front of you. *hugs* ~N |
