I Intend To Leave

by Joan Serratelli

I intend to leave
this world
exactly as I
came in
fighting,
kicking,
screaming
a rebel
to the end

I don't want
to leave too
soon
but when my
number's up
I'll go

Fighting,
kicking,
screaming
a rebel to the end

Yes, yes..."do not go gentle into that good night!" What spirit your words and emotions show. I love the energy expressed here.

Oh, what a way to leave this world ... the same way we came into it, huh? I love what you are saying, I'm just trying to see me being restrained on my death bed while kicking and screaming. LOL! Great poem, Joan. The energy is contagious.
