My Letter to Santa by Karl WaldbauerDear Santa Claus this is my letter to you. Its been in my head for years.
I have a request I think you can grant, we all know you're a generous man.
The toys you brought when I was a child filled me with joy and boyish delight.
Now that Im grown I have a special request for something I want very much.
Ive watched the sun rise, Ive seen the snow fall. My soul was nourished indeed.
But over the years life opened my eyes to visions no one should have to see.
Something was lost as time set the beat, a state I can never retrieve.
Make me innocent again, Santa old friend, its the only gift that I need.
When you visit my house you will find a snack waiting, hot coffee to ward off the cold.
Candles aplenty, dancing in light; the cats will greet you with purrs.
Under the tree theres plenty of room, but you neednt worry about that.
That one simple present is all that I ask
until next year my good Saint Nick.
