Parabolas

by Chris Sorrenti

he sees them
as mathematical equations
something he was never very good at in school
and yet through some preternatural determination
eventually figures out the varying combinations
like an asteroid pirouetting between gravitational fields
complex and yet so simple the parabolas
as according to the theory of chaos
intermittently the paradigm shifts forward
and in a tenuous few moments
can be controlled

this is wonderful writing, Chris. I love the way that you've intertwined the astronomical with "his" internal...perhaps the true meaning of the universe. 42. :)

wow, so mathematical. Well, the great scientists often were the great poets, still are in some cases. Stephen Brockwell etc. for eg and now you.

...chris, man you got me...parabollas, theory, chaos, and the ta-da with paradigm...ya' gotta quit it boy, you gonna throw yer brane out...such a lovely view of a "given"...we exist in a state of mathematical blessing of physics and still you paint a surreal picture of the real...i'm envious of this little dance...peace, chaz
