un ragazzo di vita

by Peter Humphreys

Pasolini
I felt your
presence
last night
striding down
the Corso
coat flowing
collar turned
heading
into darkness
that night
in Ostia
your body
was crushed
ground into
dirt
but all
and nothing
changed
your
poetry.

Author's Note: In November 1975, Pier Paolo Pasolini was murdered in Ostia. The circumstances of his death remain clouded in mystery and controversy. He was acknowledged as one of Italy's greatest 20th. Century Poets.

throughout history there have been attempts to quell truth, in however methods, but all, as of this date have failed, and will fail. you point out that unalterable fact in this poem.
