stealing your words by Charlie Morganlike a thief in the shade
of darkness
i'll grab that word
that you like so much
like, oh, that one.
yea, watch for it
headlining one of my poems
and it'll be hidden between
some words i've added,
just for taste.
oh, you won't miss it.
i put a used one
in it's place,
looks just like it;
it's just not yours.
you're in good company,
i only steal from the best:
you, flaubert, you, shakespeare,
you, hemingway, you, salinger, you,
c.s.lewis, you and so many others.

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 11/18/05 at 03:20 PM I do it too, but ask permission first, if possible...if that person is still alive. Shakespeare was rumored to be a notorious word, or better, phrase stealer, all of which went into his plays, so you're in good company Chaz. :o) |
