To MASH

by Uriel Tovar

from the moment i wake up
with the lights on
groggy eyed and faint
the light behind you makes you
seem like an angel out of sleep.
i watch you materialize
hoping i've woken up
because you're too good
for flesh and bones making me wish
you were a dream
something a bit more tangable
a bit more realistic
for me to have
clutching on to running sand
trying to hold on to those hair strands.
i'm just waiting for you to
walk by me again
so i can remember your scent.

Uriel, the imagery and scent in this poem gives it such a billowy, surreal feeling. Fanatastic read, indeed.
