sweet addiction by Charlie Morgan
tho' sweet, it's an addiction
and i can't live without it.
your words sent at me with a questionable lilt;
and again i fall short of your measure.
always, my estimations of value given back
with an open face of your incredulity.
as my reflections coalesce into ire,
i watch the past survive the future.
and the same unheard melody-loop
is softly playing a winsome tune.

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 10/25/05 at 07:06 PM Love the last two lines, and forgive me for saying this Chaz, but I think they could stand alone as the whole poem, yes, a two line poem, but not a haiku. |
| Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 10/25/05 at 10:34 PM Yes, Chaz, you have collection of wonderful lines here. I'm drawn to S2 and get the following: It's not how I feel about me, it's how I think, you, feel about me that keeps me hooked the the "sweet addiction"...love this! |
