Country Pumpkin
by Adrian CalhounHe sat here all day,
practicing his evil grin,
just waiting for someone to frighten.
The light faded into darkness,
and his face was lit for the occassion.
As the night went on,
and the fog settled in,
nobody came to see him.
By the next morning,
his face had grown weary,
and his flame was extinguished.
Poor guy never heard a single scream,
not even from the kids of the house,
but he sure scared the dogs.
He lived and died alone on the porch.
An entire lifetime wasted that night,
just so we could say, Happy Halloween.
