Clean Up Time

by Maureen Glaude

Maple leaves
falling in my backyard
have been busy
playing stamp pad
on my
white patio
tabletop.

I scrub at
the dark traces
of their
masterpiece,
seeing old traces of myself
as playgroup mom.

Thanks for reposting this poem. Brings me back to my school days when we too created such impressions using real leaves, and spray paint on construction paper. Getting into the season myself yesterday, I took a few photos of one tree in particular with its leaves partly changed to yellow, the rest still green; a pleasant contrast, and hopefully good pictures upon developing.

It is very nice and brings up strong images.
