Nuns by Chris Sorrenti
Ever since the age of kings
one could hear the church bells ring
And never was a more saintly sight
than the nuns, their voices alight
Some in song, others prayer
teaching children the sacred words
Devoted to their endless chores
in time of peace and of war
Assisting Jesus with his cause
even today with morals gone
Like mother Mary, came before
so to protect their virgin souls
These saintly saintly nuns

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 10/03/05 at 04:32 PM a beautiful find indeed. Made me think of Madeline books we had as kids, with the line of school children walking along the streets of Paris, led by a nun. |
