i wonder ... by Charlie Morgan
i type away furiously like i'm swatting
at tse-tse flies.
and i know he's written something,
she has too.
wonder what she is saying?
him too, for that matter.
but, oh well, i gotta type words
that would melt the stars.
i don't have time to read
just any staid words.
mine move, wonder if his does?
or hers?
too bad i'll never really know,
especially because i think i do already.

| Posted by Alastre Zidler on 10/01/05 at 02:36 PM Quite an interesting piece. Brings to mind the constant conflict I know I face every time I sit down to write, of the epic battle between that ever elusive pride in my own work vs. reverence and deferrence (sp?) to the awe-inspiring work of others. Just gotta keep swatting flies I suppose - love that image by the way! A great overall poem, Charlie. |

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 10/05/05 at 05:11 AM Honesty like this is so characteristic of you, my friend. I am so good. I never judge. I am a nice guy. ... and Charlie is Charlie... right there out in front of us and the world. Courage... that's what you have. Bang when his poem! |
