bottled blashpheme and predestined promise

by Lauren Singer

there's so much beauty in the unseen.
the dirt under your fingernails
cause you've been working all day.
the paint in your hair that you hide with your hood.
the missing button of
your well-worn shirt.
the paradox of your innocent eyes
and your cigarette voice.
it turns me on.

you're so raw. you hold down my hands
and i laugh loud and unrestrained.
we're playing rough again, and it's perfect.

there's a deep sigh as we settle.
i run my fingers over your chest,
stroke your hair as you dig your head into my thigh.
i cannot see your face, but i wish i could see
the expression that was on it.

there's so much promise in your yellow-tinted hands.
so much intrigue in your questions.
so much religion in the crook of your neck,
and bottled blaspheme churning in your loins.

with the sheets on the bottom,
and you on the top,
i stifle the name of the Lord in vain,
and whisper yours instead.

Love the descriptions - a bit too graphic for my pallet - but fantastic for the subject.
