Feathered Wings

by Melissa Arel

In times of ushered silence
When Your blood and water bring rest
I find his soul’s ascendance
Of feathered wings, acquiesced.

This gift of life was shortened
By these earthen mysteries unknown
His spirit heard the call, awakened
And answered supplications atoned.

Though his time with us was brief
The impact of true love shines through
We will find healing within our grief
And know he is home, safe with You.

A lovely poem for him that seems to be wrapped in angel's wings.
