Climb Down from the Ant Hills

by Ashok Sharda

Keep the Ants in good humor
So that they eschew from biting you
Laugh out, if stung, accidentally
They are worthy of your pity

Seek not recognition from
The propounders of common belief
Stick to the awareness at large
As you climb down from all the ant hills
Seeking not a destination

Enlarge your ego, love, infinitely
Transcending all the evolutionary scales
Ascend to those invisible heights
Where no ladder can ever reach
Admeasuring, relatively

...ashok, i see you...looking over that "hill" you call it...but it must be the edge of Mt. Olympus and s'cuse me but aren't you the Oracle...'cause i tell you what bub, it sure sounds like it...this ant hill is onnnnnne heavy metaphor you got there, it must've been hard to tote...nhahahaha...ahok, this is a delightful "three-dimensional picture" of a "two-dimensional mind"(the general public)...while [let me say] the 'corporate' world beguiles us all [sadly] to acheive at the behest of more, more, more, bling-bling, bling-bling...as you point out...HEY!!! WAKE UP!!! KNOW YOURSELF, KNOW THE WORLD, KNOW YOUR HEART, KNOW YOUR MIND!!!, great word-o-nomics here...peace, chaz

(One does not laugh if it is a fire ant! LOL!!) The last stanza says it all for me. Especially "love, infinitely" "Ascend to those invisible heights where no ladder{human} can ever reach".

Certainly some good points to ponder her Ashok. We ants are worthy of each other's pity.

The paradox of humility vs. confidence... an interesting metaphor and fable. Evokes certain Japanese poetry I've read, which unfurls grand truths of humanity through observation of nature and its interweaving. I always find myself not addressing your poetic devices in my comments, but confronting the ideas you put forth, which to me is a sign of the genius of your work that it transcends the mechanics of language.
