my journey

by Peter Humphreys

When my journey
is over,
do not box me
in the ground;
a barren seed,
with no life left
to share.

No, carry me home
to Erris,
and,
on my favourite strand,
set me free at last
in a strong, easterly wind,
where nothing else
can harm me,
can harm me ever again.

...and may it be a long and health journey. This is an instant favorite of mine.

Such a pure and holy poem. :)
