The Clipping

by Maureen Glaude

One of the neighbours
not complaining of my aged mother’s
gone-wild garden
takes a clipping
from her snowballs

I can relate to this. Nostalgic for me! As a kid I recall living on a farm that had a row of the snowball bushes. They were always so full and colorful when blooming.

Embarrassingly, my botany isn't always to brag about as in this case. I imagine a snowball is some type of plant? Good photo snapshot poem though with post card impact.

Not sure what snowballs are (china mums?) but they sound beautiful and I'd probably sneak a few myself. I can see the wild profusion of colors. Great picture, Mo.
