One Cannot SEE Above

by Ashok Sharda

One cannot see above
But can behold
Down below
On this invisible ladder

The ones on the lower stairs
Are the ones
Who assertively assume
They are on the top

The one above smiles
Knowing well
That there are many
More invisible stairs to climb

The evolutionary ladder ise infinite, and it is the man who seem it as finite who falsely ascends to the top rung with his false ego and false self love, thus, descending to the bottom rung in a veil of superiority. It is his belief of reaching the top, seeing those below, which becomes a barrier to his sight, making him blind to what is above, because this belief makes it impossible to realize that there is yet another ladder above you to ascend, only to bring you to the bottom of the next and ascend, only to begin at the bottom of the next and so on. But so far he believes he is on top, he will never SEE that he is below, he will never SEE the invisible ladder above him. And he will never ascend on the evolutionary scale, but will continue to occupy it's lowest seat, happily seeing himself on top.

Intriguing symbolism of life. Reminds me for some reason of Abraham, though he could not "see", was obedient to God's call. For the Christian, a "walk by faith". Hebrews 11:1

Nice reminder that the road to Nirvana is paved with tolerance and open mindedness as to how high the ladder goes.
